Olivia's First Haircut

Olivia will be 2 years old next week.  She is turning into such a big girl!!  She's now potty trained, has lots of words and phrases, and is very aware of the things she likes and dislikes.

My big girl was starting to look a little shaggy.  She needed a haircut, but I don't trust my skills so we took a trip to a salon together for her first cut.  She doesn't have much hair (sorry babygirl, you inherited my hair) so I wanted to keep some length, but her bangs were in her eyes and a trim was just what she needed.

When we walked into the salon (which is just one lady in her shop) Olivia was instantly intimidated.  The warm welcome we received from Diana (my hair stylist) instantly froze Olivia up.  We decided I'd go first and she watched with wonder, and an intense scowl, as I got my hair washed in the basin.  Then she sat on my lap and watched in the mirror as I got my hair cut (continual scowl).

Diana finished up with me and quickly and seamlessly moved on to Olivia.  She didn't make it a big production and Babycakes sat on my lap and cooperated while her babysoft locks got cleaned up.  I had big plans to take pictures of the whole thing, but in the end it worked better to just sit and enjoy the moment with her on my lap.  She did so great!! After she was done, we put her back in the chair for a few quick photos.
