HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY PAUL!!!

Paul turns 3 years old on 9/22/2011.  Time is going so fast.  I can't believe he's 3 already.  Paul is wicked smart and amazes me every day.  His current favorite activity is "racing" which means running circles around the house.  Olivia chases and tries to catch up.  Paul loves making new friends.  He likes to meet the ladies especially!!  His technique is to repeatedly as their names and then offer to show them his train set.  :-)

Paul is about 35" tall and just over 30 pounds.  He is sweet to his little sister, but occassionally tests out pushing and hitting.  He is a good helper around the house and has really mastered potty training.  We went diaper free around January 2011 and he's been doing great.  Just today, he even took himself to the bathroom for the first time!!  Clothes removal seems to be the hardest part...

We are so proud of Paul and he makes a fabulous big brother!!  WE LOVE YOU!!!
And we can't leave Olivia out!!  She's 1.5 today!!

First Day of School!

Paul started Pre-school!!  It's a small class of 10 kids that meets for 2 hours 1 day a week.  We're slowly working our way into it.

I took the day off work so I could be there to see Paul head out in the world.  We had a special meeting with the teacher to discuss food allergies ahead of time and they were VERY cooperative and I have a really great feeling about Paul attending the school.  The first day, Paul ran in, sat down and started playing.  I told him I was going to go and gave him a kiss on the head.  He jumped up and I was afraid he was going to freak out about me leaving, but instead, he ran up, gave me a kiss and hug and said, "See you later."  It was perfect and wonderful and I was so proud of him.

The first day of school was rough for a lot of the kids, who range in age from 2.5-almost 3.  I got a report from another parent who dropped her daughter off afer I left Paul.  She said 9 out of 10 kids were crying.  And then there was Paul, quietly playing with finger paints.

When I picked Paul up, I could hear 4 or 5 kids crying, still.  Paul ran out and was very excited about school.  He was ready to go home because the other kids were all crying.  When the teacher came out she looked like she'd been through a war zone.  She said normally the kids are pretty quiet and reserved the first day, but there was somebody crying the entire class this time.  Hopefully the kids will get acclimated and start to enjoy class.  Paul loves it and we are so proud of him!!
When I came home to take Paul to school and asked if he was ready to go, Olivia immediately ran to the steps with a shoe and wanted me to put it on.  I put it on and she went to get a sock for her other foot.  She didn't want to be left behind!! She was pretty upset when we left,  but Emily, the nanny helped distract her.  Next year she'll get to go to school!!
