2010... Whoa.
My mom always told me "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Ok, maybe she didn't say that, but I've heard that before, hence the LONG pause without any blog updates.
Our 2010 has gotten off to a rocky start, but I feel like we've made it through the storm and are ready for greener pastures!! This year we've had 3 family colds, 1 family flu, 1 pre-term labor scare, 2 mega blizzards, and a 48 hour power outage. This weekend was the first time we were able to leave the house as a family and it felt great!! Below are some pictures of what we've been up to.
Paul helped Daddy prepare for a long and cold night at home with no power. We made it 36 hours without power using 4 quick start logs for heat and cooking on the camp stove in the garage. Then we gave up and hiked out of our development and got picked up by a friend with heat, power, food, and the Superbowl!! It really felt like heaven to get out of our cramped space. We did LOTS and LOTS of playing inside!
Our backyard before Blizzard 2010 #1.
Our backyard after Blizzard 2010 #2. Mother nature expanded our backyard by removing the pine trees. Matt has proclaimed about 7 times, "Now I get to a chainsaw!"
The last record snow fall in DC was 28" in 1922. I'm sure we beat that, and then some...
This is my attempt at a belly-self-portrait at 33 weeks. F2 seems to have settled down to enjoy her entire 40 week stay in the belly. Good choice little one.
Matt and Paul read the comics.
Shaking off some serious cabin fever.
I swore I would never do this; we went and played at the playground in the mall. Paul had a blast. It looks like this may not be our last visit.
Here's to a fresh start on 2010 and healthier, happier times!
