Rhode Island!!!

Matt and I took advantage of maternity leave, vacation time, and airline miles to visit some of our very best friends in Rhode Island and meet their new little baby (Will's cross-country twin).  Our other wonderful friends TJ and Tanya came up from Virginia to visit too!!  Tanya's growing another little friend for the boys so we got to completely overwhelm her with baby information.  Paul and Olivia went to camp Malaga with Grandma Dawn and Grandpa Mark and had a great time swimming and fishing and playing!!!  We missed them a lot, but a little vacation with our newest family member was pretty fantastic too!!!

It was VERY warm in Rhode Island.  Will spent most of his days naked.

We attended our first Polo Match.

At the end, the players come around for high fives.  It's horrifying. And exhilerating.

Indianola Days!!! RECON

This year most of friends and family couldn't make it to Indianola Days for various reasons.  Our party was small, our family and both sets of grandparents.  We decided to make this year's theme RECON and collect information about all the different events that happen throughout the weekend so we can better inform our guests about what/how to best participate and have a great plan for next year!!  We had a fantastic time attending Stunt Night, the Sandcastle Contest, playing Kid Games, and eating Salmon at the Salmon Bake!!  Grandma Dawn and I even stole away for a little beach time without babies.  I got to swim!!! It was fantastic.  We had a great weekend and can't wait for next year and sharing it with more friends and family!!!

4th of July!!

4th of July in Indianola is fantastic!!! It starts the Saturday before the 4th with fireworks from a barge near the dock.  One of the local family puts on a great show for all of Indianola to share.  We walked down to the boat ramp with Uncle Mike and the Wests so we could see the show.  The guys brought some sparklers and fun little fireworks for the kids and we were surrounded in all directions by fireworks.  The show itself was great and there's something really cool about watching fireworks from the beach.  Not to mention the fact that we walked from home and didn't have to fight any crowds!!
Suquamish fireworks.  Living next to an Indian Reservation has its perks!

I was super impressed by how brave my cautious little son was.  His first sparklers!!  I think Uncle Mikey had a lot to do with that.

Olivia, my throw-caution-to-the-wind girl, did NOT enjoy all the booms around her or the little fireworks the boys were doing.  But she was happy safe in daddy's arms.

All cuddled up with my medium and little baby (under the blanket).

 Amazing!!

Becky and her bundled up Braydon.

There was also a lot of celebration on the 4th.  We geared up and headed into Kingston for a parade and a fair.  It's fun having little ones that really get into these things now!
I did this to us.  I'm not ashamed...  OK, maybe a little embarrassed.  It's SOOOOO cheesy, but also fairly cute.

Paul's first pony ride.  He actually really enjoyed it, no matter how pained his face looks.  He was concentrating.  It's important to keep control of your pony.

Paul got to get his face painted this time!!

 And Olivia got another butterfly.

There were also a bunch of bouncy houses and slides.  Olivia loved the bouncy house and Paul braved the slide with the big kids!

The parade was great!  Lots of candy and fun trucks.

Crabbies!!

We are very fortunate to live in a place where the dungeness crab are numerous and begging to get at our dinner table!!  And even more fortunate to have Grandpa Les and Grandma Kathy live just above this great little dock with that beautiful boat waiting to take us to the crabbies.  We're turning these babies into boaters and showing them all the joys of living in Indianola.  The start of crabbing season may be one of my favorite days of the year!!

 Paul driving the boat.
Daddy and Grandpa Les doing the work.
Goofy Olivia.  Turns out she's a boat girl, just like her mama.
So, for some reason I can't get this picture flipped.  I just want proof that I was here. :)
So many of my loves in one adorable picture!
