Happy Birthday Paul!!

Paul turned 1 on September 22nd!!  We had a baby birthday party on Sunday and Grandma Dawn came to visit for presents and cupcakes on his birthday!

Paul had his first cupcakes made without any of his allergens.  I think they were a hit!

There were also lots of presents to open!!  Paul says "Thank You!" to everybody.  Turns out, when you're 1, there's a daily limit of about 1 present.  The good news is we got to open presents all week!!

We had a very good time with Paul's birthday and Grandma's visit.  We wish we could have shared it with more of you.  Maybe next year we'll throw Paul's 2nd birthday party in Washington!

What a Friday!

Today was a good day, but it was also one of those days that needs to end with a few cold beers... Because I love my baby #2 (not born yet) I will refrain.

We started out the day with a quick trip to the doctor because Paul was wheezing yet again. They gave him a breathing treatment and sent us on our way with a few prescriptions. They figure the wheezing might be asthma that's triggered by viral infections. Woohoo!

Then, off to work for Momma. Until I got a call from daycare at 3 pm telling me that Paul may have pink-eye and I need to come get him. Nothing like a late-start Friday with early release too! I showed displeasure to my bosses, but secretly I was happy to go pick up my little baby!

When I grabbed the cutest baby in the world, neither eye was pink in the slightest. I asked the daycare people to point out which eye it was so I could keep a lookout for it, but seriously? I had to come get him for this?

Next step, pick up prescriptions for the little wheezle. The pharmacist informs me that our insurance has been denied. The insurance company claims it is expired. WTF!!!! Talk about freak out. Lucky for me, due to the pink-eye scare I discovered this little tidbit before all the HR people from my company had gone home. It expired because Matt quit his job and instead of 30 days of coverage, the company boots you at the end of the month. Awesome. Luckily we'll be able to file claims for this time of un-coverage now that I have the whole family signed up under my plan. Whoosh, sigh of relief.

Maybe one glass of wine wouldn't hurt...
